2012-2013 New Year's Resolutions

First some pictures of my classroom:

I'm supposed to be getting two more white boards which will go in the big empty white spaces you see above.
Hey look up there....it's you guys!

My Resolutions
  1. Go to bed by midnight at the latest.
  2. Accept that I will have some sucky lessons. Make notes to fix them later rather than getting depressed.
  3. Really work on closing my lessons instead of letting the bell tell me when to stop.
  4. Heavily emphasize summarizing (see above).
  5. Whiteboarding!

Let the games begin.

  1. Love these!! Number 3 speaks to me. I bought a time for this reason exactly. I want to give myself 5 minutes at the end of the day to give closure, assign hw, make sure everything is taped in, and all supplies are put away. I think the timer will provide a lot of structure and I want to have timed quizzes to help them for standardized tests.

  2. I have to agree with your first resolution...only I'm going to try to be in bed by 10:00 3/5 days a week. I really like your blog! I teach Algebra II and will definitely be visiting again to see what you're doing in your lessons!

  3. I need to be in bed a lot earlier than midnight to actually be functional the next day! With the new school year approaching, would you be open to including my own math site on your blogroll? My site is Math Concepts Explained, at http://sk19math.blogspot.com. I would be more than happy to return the favor!

    Cheers!
